1. Use new boxes OR treat used boxes with pesticides to kill insect eggs

2. If you are worried about having too much stuff to pack, consider donating unwanted items, or having a yard sale

3. Seal all boxes, cartons, or totes with packing tape. NEVER inter-fold the flaps or overfill the container

4. Try not to pack Lamps, Valuables or Propane Tanks in boxes. These items should be transported in your car or truck

Furniture.

Furniture hardware should be placed in a baggie and taped to the base. This lessens the chances of losing the hardware and having to buy new.

Pack Smartly.

Use linens or dish towels to wrap and pack your breakable items such as dishes, glass wear, and decorations.

Vases.

When packing glass wear and vases, you can stuff them with small dishcloths or wash cloths. For smaller vases, you can wrap a sock around the top of the vase to contain any potential breakage.

Plates+Bowls.

When packing your plates and bowls, always pack them vertically (side by side). Never stack them horizontally as that can increase the chances of them getting broken.

Fillers.

Save money on packing materials by using newspaper, linens, towels and pillows for filling and padding boxes with various items. These are items you already have that would need to be packed anyway.

Electronics.

Reduce the risk of breaking your electronics by packing them in the box they came in, or using a strong box.

Fine China.

Protect your fine china or stem wear by packing it in dish pack boxes. Using the correct packing materials can save you from replacing your nice dishes.

Clothing.

Take advantage of our wardrobe box rentals for your clothing items that need to be protected. (Suits, dresses, coats, designer items, etc)

01/ Label Everything

Label all boxes and totes with the room name and contents. This will help you save time when the movers are bringing your boxes into your new home or office. It will also help you save time when you begin unpacking.

03/ Be mindful of weight

Smaller boxes should be packed with heavy items such as books, while larger boxes should be used for lighter items such as bulky pillows. Packing boxes correctly the first time helps to speed up the process of moving because we can stack and transport different sized boxes quickly and efficiently when they have the proper weight limit in them.

02/ Prepare Dangerous Items

Before moving, make sure to empty gas out of anything that will be transported. Doing so ahead of time eliminates the need to do it right before, or during the move. Trying to empty lawn mowers or other machinery that takes gas can slow down the moving process.

04/ Secure your files

Remove all files from vertical and horizontal filing cabinets before moving day. You can pack your files in small boxes or totes to keep them safe, and don't forget to label the boxes. Make sure to tape shut, or lock the filing cabinet doors in order to keep them from falling open during lifting and transportation. Filing cabinet doors can cause damage to your belongings or injury to your movers.
